About Us

The ITN is a first-of-its-kind initiative created by the Keystone Innovation Zones (KIZs) of Harrisburg and Lancaster, as well as the Ben Franklin Technology Partners, Central and Northern PA (BFTP). Out of a brainstorming session with BFTP, CREDC and the James Street Improvement District the idea behind the Innovation Transfer Network was born and ultimately funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. Penn State University’s Harrisburg Campus and Franklin & Marshall College are two of the key educational institutions involved in the administrative operation of ITN and its seed assistance grant program.

The goal of the ITN is to leverage the expertise and innovation taking place at the region’s smaller colleges and universities in Central PA. We engage students and faculty, working together with private sector partners, to assist in commercialization of new products and services.
