Through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the ITN has received funding to support commercialization and technology transfer at the region's institutions of higher education.

The purpose of the grants is to:

• provide funding for product development 
• support commercialization of new products and services
• support new company spin-offs
• encourage collaboration with private sector companies

In the third round of competitive funding, fourteen grants of up to $10,000 were awarded for projects across eight colleges and universities for summer research projects. To view the awards made during the most recent round, please check out the 2008 Recipients.
